Features

A real editor. With real automation.

OpenReelio combines the things you expect from a desktop NLE — multi-track editing, GPU export, captions — with AI that you can actually trust because every change goes through an inspectable command log.

AI-assisted edits

Describe the cut in plain language. OpenReelio plans the timeline changes, applies them through the command log, and lets you roll back anything you don't like.

Multi-track timeline

Drag, trim, split, and ripple-edit clips across video, audio, and caption tracks. Built for non-linear editing, not a glorified trimmer.

GPU-accelerated export

Render with NVENC, AMF, QSV, or VideoToolbox using the hardware encoder your system actually has. Curated export presets ship out of the box.

Captions & transcription

Generate captions with Whisper, style them on the timeline, and burn in or export sidecars. Designed for short-form and long-form alike.

Native on every desktop

Tauri + Rust binaries for Windows, macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon), and Linux (AppImage, .deb, .rpm).

Plugin-ready foundation

A WASM plugin runtime and provider interfaces for assets, presets, and templates make OpenReelio extensible without forking the editor.

Download
