Plain-language summary
OpenReelio is an open-source desktop project. The website is a public marketing and documentation surface. The desktop application is designed around local project files, local command history, and user-approved integrations.
Agent features can involve third-party runtimes or model providers when you configure them. In those cases, the data sent to that provider depends on the integration you enable and the prompt/context you approve.
Website data
This site does not require an account. Static hosting providers may process standard request logs such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, and timestamp for security and operations.
The current site code does not include advertising scripts or a required analytics SDK. If analytics are added later, this page should be updated to name the provider and opt-out path.
Desktop application data
OpenReelio projects are represented by local files such as project metadata, an append-only operation log, snapshots, cache files, and media assets. Those files remain under the locations you use for the application and your projects.
- Project media is not uploaded by the website.
- Timeline mutations are recorded in the local command log.
- Cache and proxy files may be generated for performance.
- Crash reporting or telemetry should be treated as optional unless a future release documents otherwise.
External agents and model providers
OpenReelio is moving toward Codex and other external-agent integrations through official app-server, MCP, and adapter surfaces. These integrations are optional and may send selected prompts, project context, command schemas, or tool results to the agent runtime you choose.
OpenReelio should not turn a Codex or ChatGPT login into an API key. The intended direction is for each external agent to own its own authentication while OpenReelio controls editor-specific tools, approvals, and mutations.
Your choices
- Review source code before running development builds.
- Choose which agent providers or local models to configure.
- Control which prompts and project context you send to agents.
- Delete local project, cache, and generated files from your device.
